If you have been following my blog for a while, then you know how I feel about Honfleur. It has to be one of the most charming, picturesque and vibrant little port towns in Basse Normandie.
I fell in love with it before we lived here, it is 10 minutes down a windy coastal road from us, and I would go there any day; sun, snow or rain could not hold me back.... and so it was today.... beaucoup-rain, but we optimistically, fingers-crossed just in case....hoped that it would clear or we would catch that window between showers, and we almost did. Almost.
I am sure more than a few brocante vendors did not come today; and those that did were a bit, shall we say 'grumpy'.... justly so. It was chilly, windy and wet.
Wet.
W-E-T.
Rain-schmain..... it's a brocante. Rain or not... and moi et Petite Fille? We are girls on a mission.
I had to play hard-ball with the seller of these amazing antique chocolate molds....she wouldn't budge ONE single euro.....but when I walked away, she came chasing after.....and I got them for the price I wanted to pay!
Despite the weather, things were looking up!
A quick walk around town inside and stops at a few shops led to finding a fabulous basket and more vintage linens for the shop!
Did I mention, j'adore Honfleur?
Even in the rain...
It turned out to be a great morning. I am so excited to list the basket and the chocolate molds! A great Sunday to close a fabulous weekend that started with the Antique Fair on Friday and will wrap up with a big bowl of soup, wool socks and a good film this evening---if I'm lucky....and I feel like I am!
Hope you had a fantastic weekend, aussi. See you again soon!
Nice blog. You can't beat France for beauty in all sorts of places. http://caroleschatter.blogspot.co.nz/2011/11/saint-ceneri-le-gerai.html
